DYT Improvisation Troupes

When DYT opened its doors at The Peel Heritage Complex in September 2007, it also crafted its first ever Improvisation Troupe, The Hooligans. The Hooligans have been making audiences laugh out loud for the past two years, from Brampton's Rose Theatre all the way to the Second City stage in Toronto. They are funny and professional teens who have a passion for comedy. In 2008, DYT wanted to begin to train the up and coming mini Hooligans by creating yet another improv troupe, The Thugs. This group of 13 are funny, and full of wit. The popularity of our improv troupes has caused us to create yet another funny and cheeky group, The Bandits. COMEDY CLASSES

The Comedy Hour

Students have tackled everything from Lucille Ball to Seinfeld in this class of over achieving comedians! The Comedy Hour is full of different sketch, sitcom, and comedic film scenes that can be adapted for the stage. Our students dig deep beneath the surface and work vigorously to find the root of the ultimate comedic scenes, improv and stand up comedy. If you like comedy, and you want to be serious about what's funny in the world of entertainment, then this is the class for you!
