| The
music bug hit Bob at a very early age. He can remember stories of his grandfather
playing piano on live radio, but never had the opportunity to hear him play.
Bob started playing the piano at age 6 by imitating songs that his parents
would play, "The Entertainer" was the popular favorite. A few
years later, Bob was taking private piano lessons and continued for 8 years
studying the RCM music course. In grade 7, after a rebellious period, he
found himself in string class playing cello, and in the band playing tuba.
Two years later Bob started singing in his high school choir under the direction
of his mentor Lee Willingham. Soon after that, he started taking private
singing lessons with Lynn Blazer of the Canadian Opera Company, and continued
through high school. "It's amazing how music can turn your life around."
After high school, Bob studied Music Theatre at Sheridan College. Bob has performed in many shows across Toronto, Etobicoke and Mississauga. Some of his favorites are Harold Hill in The Music Man, Burt Berry in 42nd Street, and "The Watchdog" in The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas. He has been music directing shows throughout Mississauga and Etobicoke for over 12 years. He sits on the board of Theatre Unlimited and is also their Resident Music Director. Since he started music directing shows, he has won numerous awards for his Direction and was also nominated this year for an Actco award for Blood Brothers with Clarkson Music Theatre. |
